Registrations for the Colorado Seed Law
The second year of registrations for the Colorado Seed Law is beginning. Registration renewals will be sent out by the Colorado Department of Agriculture soon. This is a good time to look at the results of the first year of registrations.
A total of 1051 registrations were received. Of this number, 787 were registered as retail seed dealers, 145 as seed labellers, 57 an additional locations, 49 as farmer labellers, and 23 others as custom seed conditioners. The revenue generated from the registrations will allow for 375 inspection samples to be pulled by department inspectors in the next few months.
Anyone involved in the sale, labelling or conditioning of seed in Colorado should be registered. Questions should be directed to the Colorado Department of Agriculture at 303/239-4140.
